A Place to Call Their Own

For many youths from challenging backgrounds, having a safe space to be themselves is a luxury. The Rise & Shine centre provides exactly that — a place where young people can study, create, and dream without judgement.

The programme offers academic support, mentorship, and life skills training. But perhaps more importantly, it offers belonging. Many of the youths who come through the programme say the centre feels like a second home.

One former mentee, now a university student, returns every month to mentor the next generation. “This place believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself,” he says. “The least I can do is pay it forward.”
