Through a Student Volunteer's Lens
House of Joy has given us so many meaningful moments. Through the events we have been part of, we got to know the seniors in a way that goes beyond a quick hello. We got to learn about their families, their hobbies, their stories, and the lives they have lived.
These short but genuine moments are the ones that leave a lasting impact, like chatting while learning about composting or laughing together during the gimbap competition.
Seeing the seniors light up as they learn, take part, and have fun is what reminds us why we keep coming back. To build real connections, to bring a little company into their day, and to share in the joy when we find it.
